Dio breve nell’erba
Ingarbugliato in goccia d’acqua
E grandine furiosa
Dio coda di lucertola
Passi sbadati
Tra sedia e letto
Dio belva e piuma
Insonne asfalto
Dio uovo
Che ogni acqua è santa
E ogni luogo è sacro
Se assente di noi.
Saprai mai inchinarti
Tanto
Da cogliere la bisbigliata
Creatura?

[God brief in the grass/
Tangled in a drop of water/
And furious hail/
God lizard’s tail/ Careless steps/
Between bed and chair/
God beast and feather/
sleepless tarmac/
God egg/
All waters are holy/
And all places are sacred/
If absent from us./
Will you ever bow/
So much/
As to seize the whispered/
Creature?]

Chandra Livia Candiani

Bisbigliata creatura (Whispered creature) opens up to a place where humanity reveals itself by moving its first steps and gradually learning to stand on its own legs, still unaware of these latter and their way of moving. And yet its gaze embraces everything with wonder and amazement.
Bisbigliata creatura chooses the fact of being disarmed as its favourite perspective.
This project stems from the need and urge to recover a material perception of the sensitive body as well as a whole network of relations between the body and the outer environment, by activating an extension of our own being and subjectivity up to a permeable dimension: the touching hand is touched back in its turn, within a gesture that transforms what perceives into what is perceived.
All this is experienced through the encounter between Mariella Celia and Cinzia Sità, two artists, friends and colleagues, different in age, physicality. It is like spreading out a white paper, bringing oneself into the world again and starting to rewrite one’s own story, first alone and then along with someone else.
What are we before our birth? And what happens when we come to life? What does to meet mean? Which senses are required for an encounter to take place? What happens when we meet the world for the very first time? What happens when we meet the others for the very first time? What happens when we approach and even touch them? What kind of physical, emotional and spiritual transformation takes place?

Director’s notes

The gestation of Bisbiglitata creatura has been long, precisely the time I wished to have: necessary, slow, rich in falls, changes of direction, returns, births and deaths, but also surprising revelations.
Chandra Livia Candiani’s poem, her ability to express through words the sacrality of life experience, my personal studies in Body-Mind Centering®, an approach which, through experiences of microscopical intimacy, reveals that each aspect of an individual’s life is expressed by the body in movement, through somatic patterns intertwined with cognitive and emotional aspects: all this nourished the journey, giving meaning and form to this creature. Along the path so much fragility has arisen, a condition that we intend to celebrate, revealing its beauty, irony, tenderness and strength.

In Bisbigliata creatura we experience the condition of disarmament and practice our gratitude towards any struggle that we may need to know and recognise ourselves.
