A grey house. Three grey characters. Bored, dull and clouded by technological devices, they move like prisoners stuck in a predetermined mechanism, their gaze is constantly turned to the screens. But all at once something unexpected comes up! A butterfly is going to shift their look and the house is going to become the theatre of new adventures and transformations. A crescendo of emotions and vicissitudes in which the three protagonists will finally rediscover the power of fantasy, in an unceasing game that frees their bodies and minds.

Through the language of dance and movement, Esercizi di Fantastica displays the power of imagination which can transform things and people into something unexpected and extraordinary. The authors were inspired by the notion of “Fantastica” as was by the writer Gianni Rodari, whose 100th anniversary was celebrated in 2020. Familiar with the surrealism of the 1950s and inspired by the work of Alfred Jarry and his pataphysics (the science of imaginary solutions), Rodari upheld the existence of a Fantastica as totally opposed to Logic..
