Non Trascuro was presented on 24 and 25 April 2008 at Le Garage
– Théatre de l’Oiseau Mouche – Roubaix

“Non Trascuro is a journey backwards -inside me- to a small cavity formed in my left lung. Inside this “little hole” I have bared myself abandoning myself to the black emptiness of that place. Letting myself go to that silence. It is precisely by giving in to the silence that the body slowly spoke. Words that turned into vibration and song, like, perhaps, that song of which Etty Hillesum speaks, when, deported from the Westerborg lager to Auschwitz, she writes “we left the camp singing.”

“The first video is the result of photographs edited in sequence. Photographs, still images, that take the trouble to reproduce a movement, a woman running. They are literally torn photos, fragments to mark the sense of precariousness. The very action of the woman, running along the tracks of the tram, creates a subtle disorientation. A disorientation, a fragmentation that recomposes itself in the woman’s gaze. A look that transforms the difficulty, the illness, into an opportunity to know each other, to touch each other, to love each other.
In the second video details of Sara’s chest X-rays are reproduced. The superpanoramic format’ 16:9 extreme, obliges to cut the complete image, original rx. Fragments that gradually blur into abstract images, areas of light and shadow. Disease as something more complex, alchemical path of transformation.”

“The light is never full, integral, but is cut and fragmented, as are the emotions of its protagonist. Often it is a double light, as double is her tendency to abandon herself to illness, to damage, or to take care of herself not to let herself go. And in the end there are two corridors of light: one leads back towards renunciation, the other leads forward towards awareness. And then there are the reflections, those little ripples of light that sometimes show those little fragments of life that would otherwise remain dark.”
