Compagnia Tardito/Rendina

The company was born from the meeting of dancers/choreographers Federica Tardito and Aldo Rendina, both coming from a well-recognized professional background as performers with internationally acclaimed choreographers such as Giorgio Rossi, Roberto Castello, Anna Sagna, Claude Coldy, George Appaix, and Raffaella Giordano, to whom Aldo Rendina owes much of his artistic growth, having danced for two rich decades in several of her works. They share certain traits in their artistic journeys, including a taste for exploring the many forms of irony – the very heart of their poetics. Among their most significant works are Gonzago’s Rose, Circhio Lume, Oh Heaven (The Possible Paradise), Oh Heaven (The Paradise Below), and Il Compito. Under the direction of Bruno Franceschini, they created The Duck, Death and the Tulip (winner of the 2015 Eolo Awards) and Tempo, both dedicated to young audiences. In 2020, they won the AiR – Artists in Residence call by Lavanderia a Vapore in Collegno (Turin) with the project dedicated to Sonja, inspired by Uncle Vanya by A. Chekhov, conceived and performed by Federica Tardito. Their most recent work, in 2023, is SWAN, a solo by and with Aldo Rendina. Alongside their stage work, they have undertaken research that brought them closer to meditation practice – a tool they keep alive in both artistic and pedagogical contexts, weaving it together with dance, theatre, and irony. In their studies and research on meditation, they have met spiritual teachers such as Marina Borruso, Eckhart Tolle, Henk Barendregt, and Mirjam Hartkamp. In 2007, they founded the cultural association KADO, while continuing to collaborate with Sosta Palmizi, which has always supported and co-produced their creations.
