CHIARA MAROLLA
CHIARA MAROLLA born in 1994 in Rome (RM), after high school studies, graduated in 2018 from SEAD – Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, presenting an excerpt of the solo So Blue, learned from the renowned Canadian dancer Louise Lecavalier. In those years, meetings with Meytal Blanaru, Mala Kline, Julyen Hamilton, Pep Ramis and Maria Munos were of great importance; later, in Italy, meetings with Raffaella Giordano and Silvia Rampelli. Since 2019, she has begun collaborating with Maya M. Carroll, taking part in the productions of Bloodsong (2019), Phantom My Love (2020), Eternal Returns (2022). In Italy, he collaborates with DOM (2021) and Anna Paola Bacalov (2022), from whom he learned the solo Blanco el Bai II, which gave rise to Matrici e Tasselli and Dyptico y Variacion En Vivo. Since 2022, he has worked with Dehors/Audela, participating in the projects Aptica, CC/Claude Cahun and Sfondi/Wallpapers (2024). At the same time, he graduated in Philosophy from the University of Roma Tre (2022) and began practicing the martial art of Aikido. Since 2020, he has been working on his first authorial project Ἅλϛ – Forme di vita, with the production support of Sosta Palmizi. The performance, which takes place outdoors, in urban or natural locations, is hosted at various national festivals. From this project, in 2024, a video work was born in collaboration with Ivan Gasbarrini. Since 2023, she has been an associate artist at Sosta Palmizi. Curious about motor learning processes and movement disorders in children, Chiara is currently a graduate student in Neuro- and Psychomotor Therapy for Children and Adolescents at Sapienza University of Rome and a Feldenkrais Method teacher (Feldenkrais Strigara Center – artistic direction: Eilat Almagor).
