Lorenzo Covello

Lorenzo Covello first trained in acrobatics and juggling at the Piccola Scuola di Circo in Milan (2004–2008). In 2009 he moved to Turin for a year to deepen his study of acrobatics at Reale Ginnastica. That same year he began an intense study of rhythm through tap dance with Susan Parker and body percussion with Daniel Plentz. He enriched his expressive language through physical and spoken theatre, studying with Kuniaki Ida, a student of Jacques Lecoq, in a one-year intensive workshop. From 2015 onwards he began his practice of contemporary dance, attending workshops in Italy and across Europe. He has worked with various comedians from the Milanese and Italian scene, including Pali e Dispari, Gianmarco Pozzoli, and Gianluca De Angelis. From 2012 to 2015 he took part in the creation of four productions (Feuersnot, Carmen, Cinderella, Gisela) directed by Emma Dante, performing at Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and the Rome Opera House. In parallel, in 2011 he graduated in Product Design at the Polytechnic University of Milan. Since 2019 he has been part of two creations by Daniele Ninarello’s company: Pastorale and Still. In September 2019 he also began a collaboration with Russian choreographer Evgeny Kozlov for the production Un4tunate Tales. In 2020 he performed as actor and dancer in Fellini Dream by the NoGravity Company. Since 2016 he has been developing and presenting his own projects: Una Vita a Matita (winner, Minimo Teatro Festival 2016, co-created with Quinzio Quiescienti), Un po’ di più (2019, winner of Best Show, Direction Under30 Award 2019 – selected by Visionari 2020 Kilowatt Festival – finalist Intransito 2019 – finalist ACT Festival Bilbao 2020 – finalist Crashtest Festival 2020, co-created with Zoé Bernabéu). In 2020 he began creating Prometeo?, with which he won the international call Citofonare PimOff and Toscana Terra Accogliente by RAT (Tuscan Artistic Residencies). From 2025 he became an associate artist of Sosta Palmizi and began research for a new solo, Early Morning Symphony, while also re-developing the production Un po’ di più with a new performer (Noemi Piva), under the new title Appena due.
