Light leaks from a black moon is a journey through a space of apparitions, a place of nightmares and dreams. It is an inquiry into spectrality and the human urgency that provokes its emergence; favoring unconventional spaces, the performance feeds on and transforms with the dark places that host it, remaining in constant dialogue between the performers and a fabric of video images – with grainy photography, intermittent visions, and at times accidental framings – through which it spies, reveals, and generates new declinations of further spaces. The piece was born from suggestions drawn from Mark Fisher’s book The Weird and the Eerie, and thus generates otherness from the encounter with the aesthetic experiences of the uncanny and the eerie, in order to intercept multiple perspectives from which to imagine possible queer futurities of other and contemporary ways of sensing.
