Migrations are journeys that animals carry out regularly‚ cyclically‚ every year‚ along precise routes‚ often travelling for very long distances.

Migrations‚ on foot or by sea‚ are a flow of people with their few torn clothes‚ eyes staring‚ nerves frayed and hearts frozen in anticipation of what lies beyond.

Migrations: moving forward‚ moving backward‚ looking at the past‚ turning around and realizing how far we’ve come.

Migrations are an instinctive necessity‚ combining external and internal movement.

Collettivo 320Chili‚ associates of Sosta Palmizi‚
won the ‘Premio Equilibrio’ 2010 with the performance Ai migranti.

The international jury‚ led by the choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and composed of Carole Fierz: Paris Quartier d’ete‚ (Paris); Brigitte Fürle: Berliner Festspiele‚ (Berlin); Gil Mendo: Culturgest (Lisbon);
 Benoît Swan: Pouffer Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet (USA)‚
 Suzanne Walker: Sadler’s Wells‚ (London)‚
 chose the company’s work for the following reasons:

«Ai Migranti by 320Chili presents an example of a poetic and emotionally effective collective work. The artists/performers have been able to combine their different areas of training in a choral harmony‚ which‚ among other things‚ takes its inspiration from a major phenomenon of our age – migration – that affects us all. The jury has appreciated their ability to create evocative pictorial images‚ a result obtained using few resources and challenging the usual language of their disciplines. The jury encourages 320Chili to maintain and develop this approach.»

On the eve of a new creation the company intends to continue along the creative path it has taken in recent years: on the one hand exploring man and his nature‚ and on the other‚ the boundaries between theatre‚ gesture and dance‚ which are no longer simply themselves‚ but become the substrata essential to performing the story.

Each circus technique is reduced to energy and transformed into the necessity of movement. The equipment the actors use interweaves with their bodies like emotions that affect all the characters. Space expands and shrinks‚ fuelled by the precision of a falling object‚ the distance between two hands close together‚ the immensity of darkness‚ and the danger of the void to the point of ascending vertically and plunging downward to the stage floor.

An urban‚ fairy−tale space where out of context characters meet: “They arrived without remembering where from‚ following a track that at a certain point stops.”

Collettivo 320chili

In 2004 Collettivo 320Chili was formed in Torino by three young performers: Elena Burani‚ Fabio Nicolini and Francesco Sgrò‚ under the name Tripla Suarte. In 2007 two other artists joined the group: Roberto Sblattero and Piergiorgio Milano. The company thus changed shape and weight to become Collettivo 320Chili. Works created by the Collective are Invisibile (2007) and Quattro x Ora (2009). In 2010 the group won the ‘Premio Equilibrio’ with a shortened form of the performance Ai Migranti.
